Questions: is it really still possible to get out of the county contract with Beale? Was an environmental impact study done? Has the problem of disposing of the E-waste without poisoning our air or water with mercury, cadmium, etc. been looked at?
A minority of the Supervisors are open to litigation. Technically some neighbors might have standing to sue.
No environmental survey was done, but the County is changing their policies on surveys moving forward.
The industrial waste has not been addressed but there was a disclosure that no environmentally dangerous substances would be in the wastewater discharge.
I don't believe "waste water discharge" is the problem. Rather: the massive E-waste from servers and GPUs which need replacing about every 2-5 years which needs to be disposed of, and is about 80% discarded without federal oversight.
I looked at Beale...they prioritize communities where "they're wanted." :-) Another community near Tulsa was fighting them and had heard of us in Tucson.
The history as Tucson Agenda reported with city and county making decisions without public knowledge is very disheartening. I'm 72 and my nephew who just graduated U of A are in this fight, but it seems inevitable to me. He'll probable be out occupying the site in front of the construction!
I love Tucson, and I was impressed at my first ever BOS meeting at all the positive stuff.
Most of all, I give you all respect for bringing us important issues with facts, I believe it's key! Thanks again, Lynn

And that is why Tucson Agenda is so important. High praise to the reporters who pulled this all together. Now I am going to share it with everyone I think needs to know the full story!
Thank you for your extensive reporting that is getting closer and closer to a complete set of articles on Project Blue. The secrecy on this project delves deep into the realm of autocracy. We get appropriately alarmed at the autocracy of the Trump Administration. Yet it has been, to a lesser degree, right here at home, in Pima County and in Tucson.
Wow. What a piece. Thank you! Once again our mayor proves capable of backdoor development deals.

YES, we absolutely should be informed immediately! I read this to my husband, and he states this forcefully!
