Proud to be a Tucson citizen because the people of the Old Pueblo want to preserve our desert paradise! It bothers me that alternative power sources such as Bloom Energy’s power cells were not considered for the proposed AI center. Also, immediately that TEP announced a price increase! Also, why were other coolants other than water were not considered? Third, there are now commercially available quantum computers available and the increased computing power could lessen the power demands of any AI center?

The laugh made me laugh. The irreverence just caught me.

I can’t comment on Project Blue, and wasn’t involved in the activism against it, but the community really activated in opposition in a way I haven’t seen in a long time.

Whatever one’s position on the project was, I think we can acknowledge the effectiveness of the community. Just like with the Tea Party; one might not have agreed with their message, but there’s no doubt they influenced politics.

Meanwhile a data center 10x bigger than Project Blue is slated for development near Eloy and doesn't seem to be getting nearly the pushback. We also have to see if Project Blue will try to push forward in the county and bypass the city.

I think the fundamental issue remains that these projects extract precious resources from local communities to generate tremendous profits for big tech, while providing minimal relative benefit to the community at best and negatively impacting them at worst.

Terrific contribution to the understanding of how the opponents of Project Blue organized and executed their opposition. That is an example of "a step further" in the role that journalism can take in revealing our society to us.

Have a great vacation, All! I look forward to learning the new ideas that emerge as you have time to relax, refresh, and dream! That kind of time is essential to innovation and creativity.

So proud of everyone involved with writing "RIP" (at least for now) to Project Blue. Maybe Amazon Web Services should have taken a more organic approach to learning about the community in general. And, don't worry...you will still be able to deplete your bank account buying all the crap for sale on Amazon.

Taking the Agenda's advice and Bookmarking for future needs. Looks like a lot of lessons were learned by the City Council. They will need to start thinking forward in all aspects with the current attitude of the 'take it all & let them eat cake' corporate attitude
