And incidentally, not just through the work of TPAction did Prop 414 go down. ALL of Tucson hated it, as evidenced by its losing spectacularly in almost all precincts. Republicans often if not always vote against raising taxes but it took a significant level of being out of touch with voters for this to lose as badly as it did. At least one council member who stumped for it won his race by a tiny tiny margin that should stand as an affront to his arrogance ( calling his own race early and later claiming that his opponent was " not a democrat") and inability to "read the room" filled by his constituents. Don't give TPAction credit they don't deserve-- Prop 414 was as big a local Democratic political catastrophe as the information coming out about who knew what, when? re the Data center.
I have long wondered about the changes I have seen in Tucson, politically, in the last, say, 10-12 years. I've been here 34 years. I had no idea Kirk had such an influence.
I am against violence of any form! I am also against hate directed against anyone and Charlie Kirk directed hate against many groups of people and racism as well. I started the women’s track program at a Big Ten conference university in 1978 and had more black women on my team than all of the other women’s sports team combined! My only criteria was my recruits could run fast! Kirk also mocked that a 82-year old Paul Pelosi was nearly beat to death by a Trumper in his home with a hammer! I will not mourn Kirk.
Its useful to remember who this guy was before the whole world starts eulagizing him like they did ronald reagan and others whose policies led to pain, heartbreak, genocides, etc. FB features at least one of the hundreds of professors who were targeted by him, and the horrors, death threats, etc. she went through as a result. The guy believed ( and let everyone know ) a few casualties were worth it to protect the sacrosanct second amendment and became one of them.

Thanks for the link to the Arizona Agenda for the C.K. coverage. I’m glad we have local journalists with local knowledge.
One question: Why was Turning Point not supporting Tom Horne in 2026?
I believe that they were/ are looking to support Republican Kimberly Yee, the current state treasurer.
