I am glad that a local group has purchased the Arizona Inn where my wife and I were married in June of 1988! Second, I read Juan Ciscomani’s comments on X stating that he voted his conscience on the Big Bad Beautiful Bill. I sent him a vociferous email stating that he did vote to cut Medicaid for many of his constituents in District 6, voted to gut subsidies for Obamacare so that many of his constituents’ insurance will skyrocket, and last but not least Juan voted to cut food stamps so that children in his District 6 will go hungry! Save me the FALSE CRAP ABOUT NOT TAKING YOUR PAYCHECK MAGAt Juan since you have never held a town hall in Tucson since you took office in early January 2021. YOU ARE NOT DOING YOUR JOB WHEN YOU REFUSE TO COME TO TUCSON AND MEET WITH YOUR CONSTITUENTS IN A TOWN HALL SETTING! You did all of these cuts to give the 1% like Elon Musk and wealthy corporations a tax cut when they do NOT pay their fair share of taxes anyway??? We need a change from you Juan because you are by far the worst Congressman in my 43 years of living in Tucson!!!

I think Ciscomani knows he’s likely to lose. He’s a smart guy, and even with the district change, he knows the numbers. The comparisons to Martha McSally are everywhere, and you’d think he’d be worried about that.

So my guess is that he knows this upcoming cycle is going to be brutal, but he’s playing the party loyalty card because of what he hopes comes next. That’s sad when I know he had told people he’d be willing to “lose his seat” to protect Medicaid in southern Arizona.

Sometimes they just end up getting to you, and you can lose sight of the values you go in with. But trying to game the system only means you’ve lost who you are, and without that, who are you, anyway?

I am not going to cut Ciscomani any slack because he supports the worst POtuS in American history who several days ago told the military to get ready to attack the “enemy from within” in the USA cities! My family came to America with Lord Baltimore to found the Maryland colony and have fought and died in every American war since 1776. We did not shed this blood to give into the likes of Donald Trump and his minions like Juan Ciscomani!!!

I can understand your feelings about your ancestors. Growing up in Brooklyn, I was taught to revere the Maryland 400 of the 1st Maryland Regiment who sacrificed their lives in the battle near where I lived as they repeatedly charged the much larger British forces. The Marylanders selflessly died so that George Washington would be able to evacuate most of the other troops across the East River to Manhattan. The remains of most of them lie under the streets people walk on every day.

1. I do not think Congressman Ciscomani has the ability to stop his pay.

2. Since he lied about making sure Medicaid and Medicare would be protected, what would me think if he could stop his pay that he would.

3. I think the STAFF also gets paid. they should be deemed nonessential since Congress is doing NOTHING anyway. That would impact every MOC, BIGLY.

I used to live over on Sawtelle and found the hidden gate in the oleanders and used the pool at the Arizona Inn regularly. Usually the only one out there. At least I didn't drip in the lobby:)

Affordable housing stopped bing affordable when Ducey and his legislature passed the Airbnb bill for short term rentals. Prices exploded during Covid when people took their money out of the stock market and bought residential properties which were now zoned commercial. Instead of doing legal back flips to build housing that will still be unaffordable, change the short term rental law and watch prices come down.
