"Whether they like it or not," project Blue is coming to Tucson. Oligarchs who hide behind NDAs and high priced lawyers, don't like democracy as they think they know better. Not a coincidence that the oligarch behind Project Blue also owns the newspaper that purports to believe that democracy dies in the darkness while squashing an editorial that endorsed Kamala Harris for President. Kudos to the free and independent press for finally turning the lights on Project Blue, and shame on our elected officials for willingly keeping us in the dark for so long.
There is an alternative to the enormous energy use by Tucson Electric Power to power these AI centers and thus raising all of our electrical costs! I worked with Dr. KR Sridhar at the University of Arizona where he invented technology for potential use on Mars to extract oxygen from the carbon dioxide atmosphere. He is now the founder and CEO of Bloom Energy which is a publicly traded company that is using this technology to power AI centers throughout the world!!!
Thanks for diving in on the Plan B stuff about project blue! I had been following this for the last ~24 hours. It's very very frustrating to feel like we can't get the truth from Beale. It's good to known that a plan B option would have obstacles and drawbacks to tackle
I hate to keep beating the drum but why such a short bio on Sadie? She has a list of accomplishments long enough to fill up an hour of a democrats of greater tucson meeting...is it standard practice to hail the accomplishments of incumbents and go light on their challengers?
Betts, I think that it is always the goal to give candidates equal treatment and let the voter decide who to back in the election.
This particular story reflects the very unpredictable nature of writing on a very tight deadline on election night and unusual circumstance where we shifted mid stream from "X is the winner" to "it is too close to call" and then writing a little more about both candidates.
I stand by that we covered the race with equal time, and while Dahl was mentioned overall in other articles - but only in his role as a part of the Tucson Council. Which we cover pretty closely ...
Yes you do and i appreciate that! You got the question i have had for many of the local media and i appreciate the answer. If you ask me, the closeness of the vote is a story in and of itself--Dahl had endorsements from every single politician in town including non politicians like Raul Grijalvas family members and yet it IS a nail biter. No matter who wins its one hell of a challenge to the status quo in this town.

Aren't we up to our eyeballs in "data"?
